Hilaria Supa Huaman

INDIGENOUS STUDIES:

On Tuesday, Febraury 26th, 2008 at UBC Okanagan, Quechua author Hilaria Supa spoke about her recent book,and the experiences that gave rise to it at UBC Okanagan. A Congresswoman from Cusco (Peru), Hilaria Supa has devoted over 20 years to the defense and promotion of human rights, women's rights, and the rights of indigenous peoples, as well as the strengthening of indigenous and peasant women's associations. She also commits her efforts to the cause of environmental protection and the strengthening of the multicultural and multilingual identity of the people of Peru.
